In any species like ladybugs (or ladybirds), each one is different.

We call all these differences variations.

Look at these ladybugs (or ladybirds).
Can you see any differences, how they vary?

These insects have different numbers of spots.
The number of spots varies.

There is even variation in the size of the spots
and the position of the spots.

There is lots of variation in other ways too,
like how big they are, and how long their legs are.

All living things vary in all sorts of ways
even if they are the same species.
